Moving with chickens

Suggestions on how to move with 5 hens and one rooster, driving my SUV and will also have 5 cats in carriers. Have to stay in a hotel halfway. How do I do this? mostly worried about waking the entire hotel at 4am! Although mine crow through the night! But it gets more so near dawn. I will be able to leave the chickens in the car at night.

for traveling I would put them in boxes or crates but I don't know about the hotel!

I too will have to do this next year when I move for my job.
I have a friend that did it a few years ago although she didnt have a rooster, just hens. Her hubby cut big holes in 2 large plastic storage tubs and then put chicken wire over the holes. Lined them with straw, added food and water and they travelled 2 in a box, all the way.
They just put them in the hotel room overnight (left them in the boxes of course) with them and then continued on the next day.
I think it would stress them a little but its only for a short time.
I also thought about buying 2 large cat carriers to transport mine in when the time comes.
