Moving with chickens

A run the size of a mattress might do for parakeets, but chickens? Please, no.
Did you do the math for what size it would be?

about the size of a king-size bed.
A king-sized mattress is about 6 1/2 feet each direction. That would make about 42 square feet of space.

If the common recommendation is for each chicken to have at least 10 square feet in the run, that would be big enough for 4 chickens. If seramas can get by with less space than full-sized chickens, it might be enough for more than 4 seramas.

Making an elevated coop, above part of the run, would mean the coop does not take space away from the run.

Bigger would certainly be nice, but this sounds like it might have a chance of working for a small number of chickens, especially since those chickens are also small.

Thanks, Nat, that would be awesome. I hope this can work for our OP. :fl
