Moving

I am moving from Mississippi to Washington State, I have 18 chickens, and am wondering what the best way to move them would be.... Would anyone have any ideas???

I moved with chickens one time and I did not have to move nearly as far or with nearly as many chickens, but I did use a livestock trailer. I actually put the chickens in wire pens and put the pens in the trailer, that way the chickens wouldn't be on the loose in the trailer being thrown into each other with any bumps or sudden stops. I put 2-3 in each pen, depending on the size, so they had some room to move around a bit. When we stopped I gave them water. My trip was only about 4 hours, though.
