MPC mystery! Help?

I still think it's a brown leghorn

I checked MPC'S website and they show a brown leghorn in the top, left corner of the "female special". You will know what she is when she starts to lay eggs. Brown leghorns lay white eggs and welsummers lay brown eggs.

I know : ( I have to say, I'm looking at a picture of the chicks out of the Meyer Hatchery catalog and it does look like it could pass for a light brown leghorn.

I shouldn't get too excited at this point. You're right . . . I'll know when it starts laying eggs.

MPC does have all three -- brown leghorn, welsummers & partridge rocks as part of the special.

What type of comb does it have?
It looks like it has a rose comb. If it has a rose comb then it could be a Leghorn or Wyandotte...

I thought all Leghorns had single combs? Hard to tell if your chick has a rose or single comb from the angle of the picture. A rose comb will be flat while a single comb will be a little row of spikes.

When it grows up a bit, both Welsummers and Wyandottes are fluffier and have red earlobes. A brown Leghorn will be slimmer and have white earlobes.

Actually the more I try to analyze, the trickier it gets for me. I think two have the single comb and the 3rd one has a rose comb. I'll have to check out the earlobes.

I tried to analyze the chicks from MPC website & their posted chicks.

Thanks!
