my chickies arrived! i'm confused, cuz my PO said they only have 2 trucks in the am...but they called me at 12:50 saying they're here!!! i'll post pics later! i got one mystery chick and all my EE are FAT! cute!! my silver cuckoo maran is the tiny one! more later! i can't tear myself away from the box!

Woooo-hooooo! Just picked them up from the PO. All happy and healthy. I live in northern Illinois outside of the Chicago area. I ordered a total of 18--- all girls (supposedly anyway!) I Have 4 EE's, 4 Welsumers, 4 RIR's and 6 Red Stars. Here they are:

cabot: it looks like the picture with the 2 of them (the EE is on the right, the SS is on the left) and the Welsummer is the one on the bottom.

They look great!

I'm so glad the wait for them is over. They are just so funny. I have a plexiglass window in the brooder for them to look out and 2 of them keep bum-rushing the window when they see us.

One of the SS would NOT stop peeping (behavior was similar to Derf our runt Welsummer) , so I picked her up and she immediately climbed under my hair by my ear and neck and just fell asleep. She stopped peeping and stayed there for a good 10 minutes or so. Super CUTE!
