I have this guy in my flock who is just sweet as can be, crows like crazy, is quite the fluffy butt bantam.....but what is he???
I thought he might be a D'Uccle for a while, but now I am thinking he looks more cochiny. Any guesses out there?
Here is what I see that is throwing me, I would jump at Golden Laced Cochin, except his neck is all black. Does this happen when they are juvies and then they get more gold in their hackles? Or is this just a way off-color hatchery bird. He was my mystery(free rare/exotic) chick from McM.
Any help is appreciated. Believe me, I have been searching high and low to figure this one out for sure. If any of you are GLC experts and can weigh in, that would be great.
As a newly arrived chick: (he is the one in the front :wink )
As a 2-3 week old chick:
Today (11-weeks old) Side shot:
His back:
His wing:
His head:
Whoever guesses correctly can come and get two 12-week old White Crested Black Polish cockerels with about 7 feathers left on their heads. 7 is lucky, right?
