Mr. Fluf is a chick we bought and he was tiny but as he grew a little bigger his cheeks got fluffy. Does anyone know what causes this and is it common?

It's all about the DNA - the breed/breeds that he is have caused the feather growth.

The beard under his chin is called a beard and the poofs off his cheeks are muffs.

I love him, it's adorable.

It is in a few breeds like Ameraucanas and Faverolles. And is extremely common, especially in Easter Eggers.
