Chicks shipped yesterday! Last time I got them the next day. This time I got nothing - hoping they come in tomorrow.

Mypetchicken had to do a substitution for me so maybe they got sent out today instead of Monday...................Oh the AGONY OF WAITING IN A I WANT IT NOW SOCIETY AAAAAGH!!!!!

What is worse is I am off to a Silpada Conference in Kansas City Missouri (Which I know I will have a ton of fun attending plus I get to see my very best friend since 2nd grade whom I have not seen in almost 10 years) and I won't be home till Sunday and I will miss out on the new baby cuteness! Family will be home to care for babies but I don't want to miss out! Maybe we can ask the silpada ladies to design some chickenesk jewelry......hmmmmm

My precious daughter Swimchick will be posting questions here so look for them. She is such a little mother hen anyway I know the babies are in good hands and my big boy (16) is home from Germany So really they have everything they need to be good with the baby chicks. They are in good hands and they are good kids......

I still wish I didn't have to miss the first week!

I know!!! The waiting is awful

I called yesterday to MPC to see when the girls would be sent out, and they had just sent them off to the airport

Or so they said....and I should have them probably tomorrow...

this is going to KILL me having to wait!

I just rearranged my entire week's schedule to be sure i would be home for the call... my hubby is laughing at me and calling me obsessed.

Just give him 5 mins with the babies and he will be putty in their wings just like the last batch we had.

That is so funny Lissa - I just replied to your post!

I just wish I wasn't going to miss them!

It reminds me of being 8.5 months pregnant - The anticipation is horrible. You want to be realistic and you are so excited....will I do all the right things....

I had 3 RIR in college - I did everything wrong and they still turned out to be fine and my friends family who adopted them told me they ate them! I had no idea that they were all roosters. I brooded them with a 60 watt lightbulb in my bedroom at home with newspaper for 4 weeks and the brooder box was a leftover box from a case of typing paper. They were hoping out all over my bedroom! It was a mess! My mom was totally freaking out.

20 years later....I think my first batch turned out okay so hopefully I will even do better with this next one

IF THEY WILL ONLY GET HERE!!!!!

I hope your chicks make it ok. Try to e-mail MPC. Maybe you'll get a response. My chicks were shipped on a Monday and supposed to arrive on a Wednesday. I called the P.O. and was told none came in and that most likely they would be in the next day as they usually get them in around 6am. At 3pm that day I got a call from the post office that my chicks had come in with some priority mail.

I got my girls from mypetchicken about 3 weeks ago...I originally went with them because they have a very low minimum order (don't need 25 ~ not yet anyway!).

I love mpc, but the one thing I don't care for is that they send a confirmation email saying "your chicks will ship the week of (June 29) and will arrive between Tuesday & Thursday. This is the ONLY notification you will receive."

The problem with that is if you have to arrange to be available when the babies arrive...it wasn't a problem in my case since I work at home, but I wonder how others manage dealing with that.

Then they go on to say that the chicks are not late unless they don't arrive on Thursday, then you can call them. (Mine arrived at my local rural post office at 6:30 Wednesday morning.) They don't want a lot of calls or correspondence so they can concentrate on packages that are late or missing.

Otherwise I was VERY happy with mpc, and the chicks arrived healthy & active (and hungry & thirsty!).

Remember, they are coming from the Northeast... if you're on the West coast it may take another half day or so, but I feel your pain...I was nuts with anticipation

@write2caroline I'm so sorry you're going to miss the babies' first week! They do grow SO fast...mine are starting to look like miniature chickens already

Tell your kids to take lots of pictures!

The chicks came today - kids took 61 pictures and posted them for me on shutterfly - I will proudly post them later here.

Taking a pool as to which of the wyandottes is the rooster - Of the three everyone picked a different one - for fun I will on Sunday post the pictures of each candidate for Roo and see if any of you can guess!

My hotel is on Wyandotte Street in Kansas city Mo. Ironic?

It is hard to be away but the kids and hubby are taking good care of them!

I am a lucky girl!
Thanks for all the well wishes
