They are named and hatched already, but I will check out your article! I love making lists for future chickens names (because let's face it... there are always more chickens in my future!!)Unless they are already named.....

Honestly, I never worried about the incubator on the weekends. As long as school personnel know not to unplug the incubator, everything should be fine! The only thing to be concerned about is when lockdown begins, as the humidity will need to be increased to 65%-75% on day 18 and eggs need to stop being turned. I always just went in to the classroom on the weekend of lockdown if I felt I needed to check on the eggs/humidity levels but I only ever went in during lockdown. Moving the incubator back and forth every weekend would be more likely to decrease your hatch rate than just leaving it in the classroom, as long as you are confident no one will unplug it. I always taped a bright note right above the outlet saying not to unplug anything that was plugged into that socket! Good luck with the hatch, it is SUCH a fun experience with a class!I'm going to be helping my son's 4th grade class hatch eggs soon. I'm concerned about the weekends. I won't be able to check on them. And one of the weekends is 3 day (Good Friday). Should I bring the incubator home on the weekends?
