I just wanted to post something to say thank u to all for all the knowledge I've gained on this site. I even went out and bought a book about chickens so that I sit and read from beginning to end on raising chickens.

Many times I'm tempted to post questions that I have. But I don't, and instead make myself search for the answers on the site first. Like searching for most topics about stuff, one is normally not alone with the questions they have. And just like every question I've been tempted to post, others had already asked, and each post had many many responses. I'm so grateful for all the people that are willing to share their knowledge and experiences so that newbies like myself can raise some healthy happy chicks.

So I know it appears that I'm not active on the site, but TRUST Me!!!! I am here daily reading, learning and absorbing it all in like a sponge. Oh and like I said with my introduction post, my daughter does the same. Everything I learn, I share with her and the rest of my family. Also, we help a local Dr take care of his hens. He was having some major problems that he wasn't even aware of till my 5 yr old & myself noticed. So he smiled the other day and told me "Wayne said I don't have to worry about a thing cause you're gonna let me know EEEEVERYTHING I need do and get to get my chickens back right." LOL. (Wayne is my husband and he helps take care of the dr's property and animals as well as being his best friend and a coworker of his at the hospital as well. My husband is a surgery tech also.)

So again I say thank u, and keep all the info coming.

Welcome to BYC from California wine country in the Western Sierra Foothills!

I was like you for a while, lurking and following certain topics ... And noticed various knowledgable members who routinely had the answers and were glad to share them, using small words ;) and lots of humor.

I got brave enough to post.... And as a result, now I won't shut up. but I have developed some wonderful friends in BYC, several local folks I've met and plenty of people I have never met, but they're friends nonetheless.

So glad you and your daughter found BYC! Sometimes I think what my flock might have suffered had I never found BYC myself.

How cool you've educated your vet, too.
