Erthromycin should treat MG. Not sure of the dosage you should use though, you may find the links below helpful in figuring that out.

Since it seems your hen(s) keep becoming symptomatic periodically, it may be a good idea to get the Denagard and treat them monthly as suggested previously.

Some older links about poultry and MG recommended Erythromycin (Gallimycin) for MG, but there may be some resistance to the drug. That is why most of us recommend, Tylan, Denagard, and Oxytetracycline nowadays. It must given as directed whether orally 3 times a day or in the water, so they get the right dosage.

Sick chickens do not usually drink well, and they have to drink enough to get enough of the antibiotic. When having a chronic disease in the flock, it is best to not add new birds or hatch any until the sick birds and carriers are all gone, or the disease will continue to be spread on and on.

I think I have oxytetacyline here at the house . I may just do that and treat her with Denagard monthly. Ugh so exhausting I having sick animals while being so sick yourself. Thanks guys

I am not telling you not to use the erythromycin, because it might help, but just wanted you to know that it might not be effective. I do not know the dosage right off since few use it anymore. Have you ever gotten one or two chickens tested for what disease? If it responds to Tylan or one of the others it may be MG. Your state vet probably has a way of getting them tested if you check.

I’m definitely going to check into that. I have such a small flock I guess it doesn’t matter that those illnesses can strike the smallest of flocks. Poor chickens.

That’s so odd that tractor supply doesn’t carry Denagard. They act really dumb there.

Most oral antibiotics are not available in feed stores, although injectable ones sometimes are. Denagard wasn’t even around in the US a few years ago, and mostly just people with long term MG know about it, usually from this site. It tastes very bad apparently, so sometimes people have to flavor the water. There are many threads about it if you do some Googling.
