Just wanted to post - I ordered 10 chicks from Mt Healthy in Ohio, for a small order the shipping was VERY good! I paid a total of 50.00 to have the 10 chicks shipped via USPS, they were hatched at 10AM on Tuesday, and my post office called me at 7 AM on Thursday saying they had some chickens for me.

Upon opening the box, I had 13 baby chicks - it looks like the gave me 1 extra buff brahma cockerel, 1 extra golden laced wyandotte cockerel, and 1 extra golden laced wyandotte pullet.

All of the chicks appeared healthy and were eager to drink water and eat. I've had them for just over 2 weeks now, and everyone is still doing great. Of course, all new chicks are in my brooder inside the house and quarantined from the rest of my flock for safety. I was very impressed with the courteous service, and quality of the chicks received, especially for the price.

I receive my chicks from Mt. Healthy today and so far I am impressed with the Hatchery. They hatched yesterday and were at my post office this morning. The hatchery is only 90 minutes from me. Customer service was nice when I placed the order last week and answered my questions. The chicks were active and seem t be healthy. They were active in the brooder most the day and have been eating and drinking fine. They are currently piled under their momma heating pad.

Awesome! I'm glad you had a good experience with them as well. On the topic of the momma heating pad...aint that the greatest thing ever! I've got 8 chicks I hatched out on Tuesday of this week that love the heating pad.

Yes, the momma heating pad is fantastic! They are already putting themselves to bed in the evening and come running out to eat and drink in the morning when we start turning lights on.

Got our “ meaties” this week. Again shows as hatched and at the post office less then 24 hours later. All Seam healthy and happy. They get mad when I turn off the lights though! Lots of cheeping! Only complaint if there is one, I was expecting the tracking number to be emailed. I didn’t get one. Ordered months ago and was ready, just a reminder would have been helpful!

Mine did that as well - what I did the first couple of nights was to help them find the heating pad to get under and they settled down pretty quick after that. Now, as soon as the light goes out, they get under the pad.

I also try to turn off all lighting before the sun sets. I have a window above the brooding box that lets natural light in and it seems to help them get used to the natural cycle a bit easier.

Kinda warm 85f here the last few days. They where not even using the heat plates. The second 25 left today, in theory I should have 25 but there are 27 leftin the brooder. I guess they shipped one extra of each ! Another plus for Mt. healthy!

Got 10 Golden Comets from Mt Healthy the beginning of this year. All 11 (they put an extra in) are producing great already. Couldn't be happier with the hatchery or the birds. Will be getting more from them in the future.
