Mud in the run

Our run is covered but when the rain or snow blows, it gets wet. We do Deep Litter out there and there is no mud or odor. There is at least 6" of straw, grass clippings, leaves and pine needles. If it gets wet, we fluff it up with a stall fork to speed up drying.

I use straw in the spring; the chickens enjoy scratching through it, so it does double duty as entertainment
