Mud or Manure Pack

I have a hen with a large pack of either mud or manure on her leg. Will I be able to soak her leg and get it off? She gets around by hopping on the other leg. I would like to be able to remove it, but don't want to hurt her.

Soak it in warm water with a few drops of dawn in it. After a few minutes of soaking gently rub the packed item off then dry her leg. Look for any signs of injury or infection and treat as needed. If there is no injury or infection then just let her be on her way after washing and drying.
