Update: Flora loves her new home and has already made friends with a few of the roos. She is quite the looker, and you know how much guys like crazy chicks.
Oh Flora is gorgeous, she found her home now. You found her a good home❤️

😄 your saying "you know how much guys like crazy chicks.", you got that so right! Let just put it Flora has the extra buzz of life!❤️

I have 2 Pekin hens, and I love their big flower at the end of their body that they carried around and they make such cutie sound when they speak. Very quiet Pekin. I love Pekin chicken breed. ❤️

I swear that Pekins on the right half of the globe are just built better. Mine are so loud! Though I will say, it's quite the hero's welcome when I head outside to see them. They are pretty adorable and make really good company (when I'm not getting pecked for treats).

Do you remember when yours starting laying? One of mine just squatted at 16 weeks and 6 days. Now she's been going in and out of the nest box since I opened it up! Seems so, so early for a breed like this. I've wondered if Flora was on the verge on laying as well, which could explain her behavior.

Is it loud same as the standard size chicken? Mine would make loud noise when they want out of their run, but nothing compare to the standard size loudness.

My 1st Pekin started laying egg around 5 -6 months. Quietly transition into adulthood, no noticeable signs. Never peck at me,but give me look of disapproval.

My 2nd Pekin is now over 7 month old and yet showing any sign of egg laying. We are in winter at the moment so it can be the reason. She is a bit spicy sometimes peck at me & sometimes run around like crazy.

This is the first time I have Pekin chicken so I am learning about them. They both have different personality. I found that my standard size hens change when they about to lay their first egg, some is worse than other.

It could be the changes in the body that cause Flora's behaviour..or anything......

I think your Pekin adore you, they know you spoil them with treat.
