Mud pit

Any idea how to keep my run from being a total mud pit? We have has so much rain... I swear it's been raining everyday for the last month. We tried putting straw down and they just get nasty smelly after a week. The same with grass clippings. My poor girls are little muddy messes.

I live in GA and had the same problem. I went deep litter just this spring. So far it's been doing amazing! I have a thread showing the before and after project if you click on my name I'm sure you'll see it.

I scrapped all the muck off the top soil let it dry out a bit. Then we tilled it a few times when the rain let up for a few days.... it's like a new coop. And the girls loved digging and dust bathing after we tilled it up.
