I've read a ton of articles about mud in the run. This isn't about that. My girls have a ton of dirt stuck at the base of their feathers. I think they got into the flower beds after we watered them. Should I bathe them? Or will they do that on their own?

They'll preen it off.

Chickens love to dust bathe and they get very dirty. Don't worry they will clean their own feathers and tomorrow you won't even see it. It's especially ugly on a white chicken!! I have a photo of a white chicken covered in dirt but I don't know where it is right now. :D

If you like cleaner chickens, you can give them a big pot with white and dry sand to take a bath. Put it under a roof somewhere to keep it dry.

And then they’ll wait for the door to open to free range, dive right back into the flower beds just to become mud balls!!!!!:barnie
