The floor if mt coop is just dirt, and with some heavy rains that we've had lately, its become very muddy and smells like a zoo... is there anything is can do such as mulch or hay or anything that could help with this situation?

I usually out down pine shavings to control the moisture and it helps the smell. My turkey pen would get real nasty after a heavy rain till I figured out what was causing the water to get in, and turkeys can really smell when they get wet.

We use straw, it really helps with the smell and mud, plus they love to scratch it around.

One thing about straw. I have some potato towers in the yard. Basically peat and dirt inside a net lined with straw with potatoes in them. I just checked them in the yard, and the soil in them is still moist, almost wet. I have not watered them a single time after planting over a month ago, so straw also locks in moisture really well.
