Muddy Run

I have a 12x12 run that is covered with fill lime. It's fine gravel that I believe is left over after they crush rock. It was $7.50 a ton compared to $25 a to for sand. The girls can obtain all the grit the require from it and is is easy to clean. Just rake it out once in a while and no mud!!! It compacts fairly well but they still dig and make dusting holes. I also have a tin roof over the entire run. I can sit out there in pouring rain and hand feed all the sun flower seeds the will eat. It's wondrful.
