So we are getting a mule sometime soon and I don't even know were to begin! When i search mule care it didn't give me much information and I don't know were to look... so my question is- does anyone know a good website about mule care? any help will be appreciated
It's been a while since I spent much time there, so I can't remember if they cover care of mules on that site. Mostly, care of mules is much like care of donkeys. The basics are that you feed them very, very simple diets (pretty much grass/hay and nothing else) because their very efficient digestive systems would make them fat if they were grained at all. Their feet are usually very tough, and seldom need shoes, but may require a slightly different trim angle than that of a horse. Personality-wise, they are more donkey than horse, but each one is different. I am owned by a 32 inch mini mule, and learning to see the world through the wise eyes of a mule has been a revelation!
