Mule duck breeding plan!

Next plan is hinnies!! And these 2 together should produce some nice hybrids too! I'm told that hinnies will lay eggs and go broody plus they have the size difference like the muscovies do in the sexes which means nice small females!

Yeah I know right! I'm thinking they will be pied? but who knows, she is a bit young yet to breed but another couple of months and she should start laying.

9 ducklings are here!!! I'm fairly sure there are 7 mules and 2 mallard derived crosses! The moulards have a different peep but not quite like a Muscovy, it's so interesting to see the battle of the genetics, how they are being pulled in both directions so end up in the middle behaviour and looks wise! There are a few individual shots and a group shot (2 missing as they hadn't hatched yet) The yellow one is a mallard derived.

Ok so I'm a little confused, you say once your hybrids are breeding? But correct me if I'm wrong aren't all Muscovy crosses infertile? Or have I misread your post, sorry if I have.
I was not at all clear in what I typed. Sorry. I had tooth pulled that day and was taking painkillers. Shouldn't have been giving out advice. ;)

Yes, all muscovy crosses are infertile. I meant when my hybrids begin hatching (as my pekin and muscovy haven't started breeding/laying yet).

Sorry for the confusion.

Oh right , no need to apologise :) The ducklings are doing really well, it is actually 8 hybrids and one mallard derived, I can't wait for them to feather out now.

Can you pick the odd one out :p
