Mule duck breeding plan!

Wow OK I have seen some beautiful ducks on here but I have a question I have a chocolate Muscovy that my Pekin drake would catch and breed I let her hatch some eggs I got two chocolate Muscovy's and a hinny but from what I've read hinny's look like the Pekin but fly well mine looks like a few of the barred birds here but so much more darker she (I say she because she quacks like a pekin she also has the low whistle of a Muscovy) also fly's very well I'll post a picture asap but do you think its possible for hinnys to look like something other than a Perkin female?

Also I should add that I do indeed have a Muscovy male lol I had 4 ducks total 2 pekins two Muscovy's both are breeding pair's

I have French white muscovies and want a pekin for mules ducks. Muscovy male/pekin female.
Metzer farms page states that fertility without AI is only 20-30%.
I assume maybe the pekin is too fast to the muscovy to catch.
Anyone have good fertility on that cross?

I would suggest a pekin male and muscovy female. Muscovy drakes are so large they might hurt the pekin females. Plus muscovy hens go broody so easy they could hatch the eggs for you.

Glad to find some other mulard fanciers who like them for their looks and behaviour, most information I can find about them on the internet is connected with meat or foie gras production.
I love the pictures here, I didn't know that these hybrids can be so pretty!

I acquired a mulard female two weeks ago. She has a very high pitched voice similar to a muscovy, but is quite chatty, sounds almost like a songbird. She clings to my pekin drake and expresses typical mallard bonding behaviour with him. The runners respect her, the muscovies don't really like her but have accepted her into the flock.

She is indeed a lovely addition to the flock, although she did not get too well along with the others at first and she has some sort of issue with her food and walks with a limp.

did you check the bottom of her foot for bumble foot? what kind of issue with her food?

I have checked her this morning, her feet are as smooth as I could wish for.

It mostly concerns the left foot, it seems to slip slightly to the left with every step after it has met the ground. I suspect that it either an old injury that has not healed too well or that it is due to her weight and shape. But despite her difficulties she is quite active, walks around and goes foraging with the others.

That's good it's not bumble sometimes they can get out of hand quick, probably is something that happened before you got her.
