Hi, has anyone had more than one hen with new peeps hatching around the same time and sharing the same pen and coop area? Im wondering if this will pose any problem with jealousy and hens trying to hurt the other hen's babies? Do I need to keep them separated to prevent such? Im experiencing two hatches nearly simultaneously; they will be about one week apart.
Thanks for any input on this topic.

I had two hens go broody ..a Showgirl and a Cochin and they ended up helping each other and got along famously......but every chicken has their own personality. These two hens of mine were both extremely laid back and non-territorial.

Thank you. Im a little concerned about mine. I guess Ill just hope for the best. Im prepared to create separate areas if necessary.

My broodies would usually buddy up and share the chicks. The chicks would tuck under either mother if they got cold and they'd all sleep in a big pile together. It all depends on the temperment of the hens. I've had as many as 4 broodies share 6 chicks.
