I run one to three hens per rooster for breeding purposes. You can go as high as 10 hens but for me hens then start to drift back and forth between roosters which complicates control over parentage. Hatch not as good with larger number of hens. With larger groups you may see satallite males setup with one or two per harem.

Dog may improve important for long term.
