mummy to be

Hi carcar80 and thanks you.

This happens with my hatches to-they take their sweet time. Hopefully they will be further a long by morning.

I reeaaaallllyyyyyyy want to grab the one that's pipped and make sure it hasnt dried up. I'm sitting here just staring! Should I be worried that the other 4 haven't pipped yet? Tomorrow will be day 30.
Has your day been ok? Must be hard as its been a week today. I know I'm like we'll this time last week...

Actually today was not as hard as I thought it would be. My sister and I got our hair cut today, just needed a change you know . I have decided that I am definitely a short hair kinda gal.And we went back to Maurice's house today and that was not as hard as I thought it would be either.

I bet it would actually be okay to take the egg out to listen to it for a second. I do with mine, I'll take them out and tap them lightly to see what happens. I wouldn't worry about the other ones just yet, tap them to and see what happens. Just make sure to spray them or add more water to re-raise the humidity.

Whoop whoop ok cool. So excited! Will let you know what i see! I upped the humidity earlier in the hope you may say that!

Glad today wasn't as bad as expected and am happy to hear you went back to Maurice's place. I think sometimes that after a hair cut you feel so much better, like it's cut off all the bad stuff!

Ok advice. The one that had pipped hadn't broken through the outer membrane, I checked for veins - none so made him a lil hole so he can breathe now. There was another that had pipped underneath so I couldn't see but again not through outer membrane which was again papery so he can breathe now too. A third one I could hear frantically cheeping so I made a lil hole but he was shrink wrapped. Tried to make a lil hole in the inner membrane like 2mm if that and it bled so stopped and put in back in with a warm paper towel around it to try and soften the rest of the shrink wrap. I can't do anymore as he's not ready to come out. The other 2 I candled and looked the same as the other day moving and no noises. Should I leave these or try and make a lil hole to see?

I thought I understood this shrink wrap thing but I thought for them to make a noise they'd have to have internally pipped, but if he had then he shouldnt have been shrink wrapped should he? Eeeek! I'm worried about the other 2 that aren't cheeping and no pips.

Wow! That is a whole lot a news! So sounds good on the first two and sounds pretty good on the third one that bled. Try not to assist as much as possible but sounds like you did right in this case.

Not sure why or how they can chirp without having internally pipped, just know that they can.

Do not try and make any holes in the ones that have not pipped at all. We almost never ever want to do that. Really odd for him to be shrink wrapped with the humidity high and all-must have happened when the 'bator shut down.I know it is hard but the biggest piece of advice I have is to not help any more than have yet, what you did was perfect but any more could really hurt.

I might would mist them with warm water now-just do your best to not spray the mechanical part of the incubator. Hope I was a little help.

Sorry for the frantic post! Ok I will leave the other 2. Hope the 3rd stops bleeding about to mist now. I wondered if that one was shrink wrapped cuz it was further away from the tubs of water? Which is why I worried about the other 2 but they are next to no 3 in the wet paper towel so hopefully will moisten them up too. Really need to sleep as its nearly half 12 but how can I sleep now I've seen little bills and they are loud! You were lots of help as always, thankyou so much :)

Sleep is hard-but hey-just remember that as soon as you do fall asleep, maybe they will decide to hatch! Misting will help them all and frantic posts are no problemo! Think their loud now....wait till they are out of the eggs!!

Haha Yeh I can imagine! I'll be begging them to be quiet so I can sleep! How often should I mist them? Just did it about ten mins ago and if I go to bed they won't have another for 7 hours or so. Will they be ok? I really don't want them to get stuck especially the one that's still veiny.
