Muscovey drake bully Edit title*

I had a beautiful pair of muscovey and a beautiful pair if khaki Campbell's. A fox killed my muscovey hen and my khaki drake thus spring . Although I vowed no more ducks and I love these ducks and us there anything cuter then ducklings? So I got duck crazed and bought 4 runners, 2 Peking, and two rounds. We lost one Peking and all are doing great. I was very excited to move them out of the garage into the yard. Originally we saw some fairly aggressive behaviours with my muscovey so we penned the newbies seperately. I am new to ducks so I thought it might be mating behaviour. So I allowed the two larger Rowens out. At first he was just chasingbthem around . My husband started yelling and I found the muscle holding one of them by the neck under water. He was not trying to mate it. I ran and got him to let him to let go. He then ran and grabbed the other one by the wing . I have not let them out since of their yard but he runs around the enclosure. Do I have to choose or keep them separate. He is a huge drake and I love him. My neighbor is willing to take the newbies. The other two live with my chickens and freelance during the day but with our problem fox not sure how much longer we cab did that and were going to rebuild into two separate yards. Any advice? Sorry for being so longwinded

Duck behavior can present us with tough choices.

You need to protect the other ducks. Their lives depend on you.

So, either keep a couple of duck yards and duck pens and duck houses, or find another loving home for someone.

Thank you I could not believe that my drake was doing this. He has always been so good with people but I guess not so much with these other ducks. When we introduced him and his mate to the existing campbells they did great. Now he is constantly grabbing her and mating her and she is so much smaller then he is. They paired up after the fox got their partners. I wanted to get more of both of them and got ever other kind except them. I wanted runners and ended up with the rouens because I don't know why/ Anyway the neighbor I think only wants the runners.Does this mean I should not find him another muscovey either? Or her another Khaki?

It may work out if you get him another Muscovy girl, and her a drake. It just seems to me it takes time, and close watching, and they don't always immediately get the concept.
