I live in the Cape Coral area of Florida. I am on a fresh water lake and canal junction. Besides sea wall, I have a section of natural shoreline for moms and babies to walk up. Critters with teeth and claws are discouraged with a paint ball gun (coyotes, otters, racoons etc.) I've been doing this the last 20 years, rehabbing hurt muscovies when wildlife rehabbers shouldn't. I have used this site for years for advice on fixing injuries. I have a few members that are permanently under care, and catch and release others when I was successful in healing. Everyone is wild. I seem to have a core group that have made my yard a safety place and critters come and go. I'm retired. After IAN went through, I was amazed at the variety of birds that would come nap in the middle of the day in my yard, I guess they felt safe.
