A little history....we have an acreage with about a 1/4 acre pond, we love Muscovy's and have had a few for a couple of years, while we provide shelter we don't pen them up they are free to roam and fly as they please. Until four weeks ago we had 3 females and one male, somthing happen to the male so it has been just the girls.....Yesterday we purchased a male and brought him home...now the problem, the girls don't seem to like him, they especially don't like him in the pond, if he get in the pond they "chase" him out, they seem to tolorate him on land but want no part of him being in "their" pond. Is this behavior normal?

Yes it is normal. It will take some time for the girls to get used to him and accept him into their flock. Don't worry :)

Thanks for the reassurance! I thought they would be thrilled to have him, wasn't expecting them to chase him away. Thanks again.

No problem :). I am in the process of introducing a new duck into my flock as well. The new duck has been in the smaller pen now for a little over a week and the ducks still have not accepted him. They are becoming less aggressive towards him which is a good sign.
