I just hatched my first duckling ever, a Muscovy. It's one day old. I'm not sure how Muscovies should move as ducklings. It scoots along pretty well, right side up, and can eat and drink. Just curious if it should be "walking" like a chick does, or do they shuffle for a few days first.

The legs lot a *bit* splayed to my eye, but I've never had one before, so I don't know what normal is. Can I brace the legs together like I have to do for the occasional chick?

Thanks for any input!

I just had to do that with a duckling. I found some information on here. I used a band-aid and a piece of yarn. It worked good, after a few days the band-aid fell off and all was well. I cut the yarn off. I put the band-aid down lower and the yarn up above the joint.

Thanks!
I've done it with chicks, so I'll give it a try. It's moving just fine, and seems happy. It just shuffles a bit more than it walks. It's my first duck, and I am pretty excited!
