Muscovy drake danger

Are my muscovy drakes going to be mean to their ducklings when they hatch??? Is there a seperation period for the safely of the little guys???

The problem we found was that the drake wants to breed w/momma duck as soon as he sees her. She's been on the nest unavailible for quite some time after all.

We were afraid some ducklings would get squished as our drake high tailed it after mom soooo moved her and babies for a bit until the ducklings are a bit bigger. I'm sure someone w/more experience w/Scovies will be on here w/some answers.
