Hello, I'm new here to BYC and could use some advice concerning a Muscovy drake that I recently rescued. Ten years ago, I rescued two Embden geese who had been abandoned at a local lake. I was able to find a home for them with a man who was very excited to adopt them and has cared for them for the last ten years. A week ago, his family called to let me know that the man had died (very sad) and they did not know what to do with the two geese and a Muscovy drake that he had also adopted. I went and picked up all three birds. I will now have a flock of four geese along with the solitary drake. I am concerned that this is not the best arrangement for him. I have very limited space and don't feel that I can add a flock of ducks. Should I try to rehome him with someone who keeps ducks or will he be fine with the geese? If I should rehome him, I would like to make sure that he is a pet and is protected from predators. I live in eastern Nebraska. Please let me know what you think.
