Issues are rare and internet forums are a funnel for issues

You as an average human wouldnt wake up tomorow with healthy ducks and join a forum to tell people. its unlikily anyway

But as an average human you wake up with sick ducks you seek an internet forum and so forums are full of people with problems

1% of duck owners are on forums but 90% of the 1% has problems

Gives the illusion that ducks have problems 90% of the time.

Yes, he seems fine and less stressed now which is good! It seems that he has retracted it so I'm very happy.

Hi Miss Lydia! I was reading an article about prolapse penises in Ducks and is it true that it will regrow after the penis is dried up? I'm just a tad confused cause will I have to cut it?

If his penis went back inside then you have nothing to worry about. Keep him confined for a week to heal his penis and then he should be good to go...

His penis keeps falling out however it's still pink which is good. What shoukd I do about it?

Have you been keeping it moist you don’t want it to dry out. And keep him away from the females so he doesn’t try to breed. Some have taken their drakes to the vet and they put in a few stitches to keep it in till healed. Others just try and keep putting it back in hoping it will stay. If it dries out or gets infected then what’s hanging out can die and have to be cut off or drop off. Thankfully I’ve never had a drake with this so can only tell you what I have read on here what others have done . I believe @casportpony has a thread about this. Hopefully she can get it for you.

In the future, how can I prevent this? I feel like a really bad owner.
