Does anyone else have a Muscovy drake who is too heavy to fly so instead runs at full speed? He does this once a day everyday.

We had mallard ducks before who would do exactly what you described your khaki campbells doing! They’re so fun to watchLove that video!! My muscovy female does not do that, but she will flap her wings like that. Also, my 2 Khaki Campbells will stand in one place and flap like mad as if they are trying to take off. I think they are stretching / exercising those muscles. Mine will also sort of hop around and flap frantically, it's actually really cute, then stop and go back to whatever they were doing. He looks like he is having a blast!! And - he is beautiful!!!
We got him last June so he’s one year old!Very cute. How old is he?
I have been reluctant to let my muscovies out of their run. They are 13 weeks and I trimmed one wing on each of them, but still nervous. We got him last June so he’s one year old!
Ours are really good. The drake is too heavy to fly obviously and our hen wanders off to forage but always stays pretty close by. We don’t free range ours though. We let them out for some hours of the day but only when we are outside to supervise. We have seen too many hawks and other predators.I have been reluctant to let my muscovies out of their run.
