Hello,
My muscovy ducks have seen to develop wet feathers, and I really need help!
I've bathed them today in my bathtub and dried them fully before putting them back with their flock
Is there anything else I could do?
+ How do I wash them? They're really dirty and the dirt won't come off in only water :(:(

All tips are appreciated! Thank you!!! :love

(p.s I know they're not ducks, but there wasn't any other category to put them in)

As far as I'm aware, you can bathe them with animal-safe dish soap for the dirt. I'd also give their oil glands a look, just to make sure there is no infection going on. Wishing you and your duckies good luck! ❤️ :(

Thank you so much!
Do you know any animal-safe dish soap brands?
P.s it's pretty late right now but I'll update you later!!

:welcome My Muscovy females use to get wet feather about a month before they started their molt in September. These were my solid white ones my other never got wet feather. I know you can wash in dawn dish detergent this is what they use on birds that have been in an oil spill but once you wash them you have to keep them out of water for a few days. I have no idea why.
here is some good info

Thank you so much :love My Muscovies are both males, but that doesn't make a difference, right?

My Pekin girl got wet feather once
I put her in my sink and washed her in dawn dish soap then I dried her off with paper towel and blow dryer
She couldn’t bath for 48 hours as she needs to build up her oil again so they don’t drown
It worked like a charm and haven’t had an issue since that was almost 8 months ago
Make sure they don’t drink the soap water
You don’t need a lot I just put some on my hands and did it that way then rinsed her really good to get it off
