Muscovy duckling bill question

Does anyone know what this is from? The marks on their bills seem to fade and return but I can't figure out why. Is this from them getting each other's bills when eating? I have two older muscovies with red and white bills. Could it be that?

What type of food and water dishes? Can they stick their bills through the fence?

The water is the round, plastic kind with the tray. I also give them a large pan that they drink and play in. The food is an open pan. I've been letting them have the coop all day so there's really not wire. I've looked at everything she can't figure it out. All 7 of them have it

To me it doesn't look like anything to worry about, especially if they go away at times.

Just marks. Everyone is acting fine and eats like little piranha so I guess they're ok lol
