I hope I can get some help, I have a 10 day old Muscovy duckling out of 170 ducklings he is the only one with a reversed foot, I just noticed it today that he's walking on the top of it, not the bottom.

I've read about Niacin deficiencies, none of the other ducklings have any problems at all with their legs.

I can't find any where that says a Niacin deficiency would cause this symptom, everything I read is bull legged symptoms.

This could just be a birth defect but up to this point I've handle every bird at least twice over the last 10 days and never noticed this before except for tonight.

I really want to help the little guy he's so sweet and cute.

Oh, sweetie pie duckling.....

Yes, it sounds like a birth defect, does the foot flop? If so, might some kind of brace help? In the case of niacin, my research leads me to believe that some ducklings are more sensitive to deficiencies than others, so he may simply be one that needs the boost more than the others.

I have also read thiamine deficiencies are associated with early leg troubles.

Perhaps there was an injury to the tendon, too.

That's all I can come up with at the moment.
