I have Muscovy eggs in the incubator set to hatch around May 23rd. Hatch rate looks to be poor, we are down to four eggs and the air cells look dicey. I'm worried we could end up with just one hatchling and have been trying to find Muscovy ducklings around the hatch date but the soonest I can find is June 6th. I know a lot of stuff says Muscovies can't communicate with Mallard derived ducks so I am wondering if I were to purchase Mallard derived ducklings to keep them company would they be able to understand and bond with each other?

They'd get along fine, but the Muscovy might imprint on them. I'd give it a mirror for company until I could get more Muscovies in June.

I have muscovy and pekins together: they get on fine and one muscovy and one pekin are best buddies.

I am unsure why it would be wrong for a muscovy duckling to imprint on mallard-derived duckling, @sourland ?
