I have 2 Muscovy ducklings that I got a a flea market that I wasn't told their age. The looked about a week old or less when I bought them . They are starting to get their tail feathers if that helps ? I have raised Pekins before but if I remember correctly the tail feathers came in last. Also since I'm going to keep my babies in the house until spring how do you train cats and dogs not to eat them?

You keep the ducklings in something they will be completely safe in. Up off the floor. with a top of some kind that cannot be knock off easily Dogs and cats both can have a very strong prey drive and things can happen very quick. You can also put the dog on a leash and let it sit by you while you look at the ducklings but never let the dog fixate on the ducklings. it only takes a second for heart break to happen I know all too well when my mini dachshund killed one of my 2 week old ducklings a couple years ago.
