My Muscovy duck of indeterminate age (a rescue) is a baby machine! She hatched 10 ducklings in June & Thurs she hatched 13 more! We currently have 21 ducks/ducklings, and that is waayy more than we really want to have.
Does anyone need Muscovies? I must say that I thought they were kind of ugly (those caruncles), and it was with some reservations that I agreed to adopt Coco Chanel & her mate, Elvis. I have to confess that with Coco, it was love at first sight; she is the prettiest duck I've ever met.
Coco's a chocolate and Elvis is nearly all black. Their first hatch yielded 3 blacks, one chocolate, one mostly chocolate with a beautiful white breast and throat, and one b/w pied. [note: I made up the colors; they're not official].
I would like to rehome all of the Aug. ducklings, and the 2 drakelets from the June hatching. If anyone's interested, they can PM me. A $1.50 donation to our 4-H club per duckling would be much appreciated, but not at all required. =)
