So last night, my husband was putting the chickens manually in their coop, as their door had closed in the wind, shutting them out. Most didn't make a fuss but when it came to picking up the Rooster, he made a loud fuss. The next thing, one of our Muscovy ducks came running up to my husband and tried to peck the back of hubby's leg. My husband, with his hands full of chicken, nudged the duck away. The duck kept running back to him, in attack mode. The duck then went all "Bruce Lee" on my husband, jumping up at him, trying to grab him with his claws and pecking at him at the same time. In the end my husband had to grab the rake and swatted him away. But the duck didn't give up. He continued to launch at him. Finally, my husband had to swat the duck with the rake to make him stop. He didn't hurt the duck but he did want to give the duck the message of who was the more dominant. Anyway, my question is: Do Muscovy ducks have the reputation of being protectors or is our duck just an Arse?
