The ducks we lost started looking sluggish and seemed to be having trouble walking. The next time we saw them, they were already gone. I culled one of them myself since it seemed to already be on its way out. Regarding the heat lamps, they are not placed in a way that they would injure themselves on it. They do not even seem to be smart enough to know to be close to the heat when it is on.

I'm sorry for your loss Maybe it's not their not smart enough but maybe they just don't need it on. I was talking about fire also with bedding . Let us know what you find when you candle.
