Muscovy ducks

Over the last week I have a duck laying 1-2 eggs daily. She usually sits on her eggs overnight and than leaves. We are up to 9 eggs. Is there anything I should be doing to keep the eggs safe? At what point will they hatch and what happens when they do hatch?

I don't know if ducks stay on the nest like broody chickens do. Maybe just overnight is good enough. That's something to ask the duck people.
