I have some Muscovy eggs that I took from my broody hen and a few of them seem to me like they aren't alive anymore but I was hoping to get a second opinion before I give up on them.

They are kind of cloudy with little to no signs of veins depending on the egg. The ones I know are alive I can see movement.

This is only my second time hatching eggs so any help is welcome.

Thanks for the help.

Yeah, those aren’t alive. It’s said that it’s hard to hatch Muscovies in an incubator, it’s best to hatch under a broody.

I thought I would give an update on how this went. Of the 11 I stole 3 successfully hatched on their own and then I had one that somehow had its shell crack not in the air cell and it had its beak on that said. I noticed when I was removing the 3 that had dried out. By this point the membrane was really dry and tough so I decided to intervene. Fortunately, everything went well and so far I have 4 healthy Muscovy ducklings in the brooder. I checked on Chia, their mom and she hatched out 6 eggs and left one in the nest that I'm guessing wasn't good. Definitely harder to get a good hatch rate than chickens but considering this is my second time incubating eggs I'm happy with the outcome. Also I know these 4 will be safe from the fox that we have tormenting our poultry right now. The chickens are secure in their run but I haven't been able to convince Chia to let me protect her yet.
