When do Muscovy ducklings get their facial skin?

varies.. my 10wk olds have had some showing for a little while now but i have had others that took longer.. some have more , some have less in the end at maturity too so perhaps that plays a role in how quickly it starts. I see a variance in my last clutch too.

I have to agree w/Going Quackers. Generally the bill ridge shows up first and can show up in 5wk olds while the actual caruncles take a while to develop w/the drakes developing them sooner and some sooner than others even when they are the same age.

Yes, exactly! i have one duck who barely has any, apparently she is the "old fashioned" style? with minimal facial flesh.
