Compared to Muscovy it'll sound like a full on party lol they are most definitely completely the opposite of Muscovy in every way possible, the only thing they share would be flight, though with them that applies to both sexes.
Well they ate the chicken feed starting about 4 weeks old. I'm actually really worried and wouldn't advise. My drake is huge and I'm concerned he is to big. Worried about heart failure. I feel horrible. It was my first time. I'm still learning.
what steroids? as for organic, dunno i am sure quality varies, that said i hear nothing but problems about using organic.. seems the bulk of the time they are inadequate diets, and often people have issues with their birds not just ducks but chickens and up comes the i feed organic, again NOT saying all are poor diets but it comes up A LOT on a board i am on for my own province.Okay don't feed them chicken feed they can't handle some steroids in it.
Feed them organic non medicated chick feed. The steroids in the feed is probably making them grow to fast. So till you get that feed feed them cracked corn and as always fresh clean water
They all get a whole grain diet now. No crap from the farm store. I buy grain and mix it myself. Plus they are free-range. Any advice on true known, used yourself supplements?
Black, now could be black n white pied too... i have or had many of them here.
My scovys always look so ragged by this time of year, once they get through molt feathers are once again gorgeous, until breeding season again when the drakes tear each other up.![]()
But she´s going to be a beauty! Make sure you post pics when she has all her feathers in.
