Muscovy keepers share your pics!

I think all of you all's muscovies are so cute....I am so jealous, I want some so bad. I just have to fence in my yard and pond so they will not wander into the road....ughhhh..eventually. it's about 2 acres...wo wish me luck at finishng it. The pictures you all are sharing are my inspiration to get it finished.

This cochin bantam hen refused to stop setting so we gave her the only eggs we had: Chocolate Muscovy. He hatched out this week with 4 ducklings out of 6 eggs. There were duckling sin the two eggs, but did not hatch. The real mother is due to hatch in a week with 9 eggs left. She dragged one rotten egg out last week.

These are from the pair that took Reserve Champion Heavy Duck; Reserve Breed; Best of Variety; and Reserve Variety at the Spring Livestock Show in Little Rock, Arkansas in April.

It sort of looks like she is cornered by them! Actually, we had just removed the nest and two bad eggs. She was glaring at me.

they are great ducks. my drake follows me around the yard like a puppy. all he cares about is me and going inside the house. he knocks on the door to go in. it's funny cuz sometimes my mom runs over to the door cuz she thinks it's me hahaha. they have great personalities!!

This looks exactly like my cousin's girl.. and my Johnny's sister. Will this one end up being black and white or is it "barred?"

She is a black barred pied & her barring will shrink so that it looks like fine white pencil lines instead of the thicker barrs. Her mom, Charlotte, is a black barred pied white head and retains fine pencil barring along her back and sides. I never saw Charlotte before her adult feathers came in so am interested in watching her daughter molt out and compare their pic's once that happens. Charlotte bacame "more barred" once her white head appeared and she molted out for the second time.

I just got my first two Muscovies. I'm keeping them in for a while, hoping they'll get used to me and stick around when I do turn them out. Love their feet!
