Mine dif don't like to be caught and clipped sounds like they are being killed but they get over it. I wait till evening most of the time and walk in behind them when they go in for the night, shut the door and get the one I want to clip, You might want to wear gloves you can actually use once you put them on because they can scratch pretty good with their claws. I hold them between my feet and bend over open the one wing and clip doesn't take long at all. can you post the link to the video?

One point of critique, the man clips both wings, it is more practical to clip only one, because the deal with clipping is to unbalance the bird. With both wings clipped, the duck might be somewhat disabled, but still balanced so it might learn to fly again, especially if not much more than the tips get cut off like in the video.

I actually have seen my ducks flying again after cutting a rather small gap into the wing, sooner or later they learned to even out the unbalance.

Yes, I noticed that, and he also left some of the flight feathers and cut all the secondary feathers. I just cut the flight feathers and leave the secondarys. that way when they fold up their wings, you can't see the jagged cut feathers. they can still jump up a couple feet, but they cannot fly over the fence.

I can vouch for the fact if you clip both they may still be able to fly, because when I first started clipping and not having a computer to look it up I did clip both and yep my one duck did fly.

Yes, that is how I do it to. I made the same mistake with my first chickens, and we were wondering how they could still fly into the garden.

i do it that way too but I usually clip both my hen Wilda can fly with only one wing clipped she is very tricky

They can find ways. since my land is side of a mountain mine can get lift if they are out back up on the hill. lil stinkers. But most of the time if they try to fly from up there they do a belly flopper down into the ditch and are still inside of the fence.
