so a duck showed up today, it was a muscovy and it wasn't mine, um... it was really weird experience, because then after he got his fill he flew away, and i didn't know muscovies could fly like that. even though mine fly on a regular basis, anyway he should be back because of the girls and when he does i'm going to clip a wing, and take him to the vet or quarantine him.
They are gorgeous
Buck when i met my first Scovy drakes[ I had never even seen a Muscovy] they lived in the river below my home well those 3 drakes could fly so well it was amazing watching them fly along the river. They were slim having to fend for themselves not like most of our drakes that get heavy because they can eat anytime they want to. I hope it comes back you need to post some pics.so a duck showed up today, it was a muscovy and it wasn't mine, um... it was really weird experience, because then after he got his fill he flew away, and i didn't know muscovies could fly like that. even though mine fly on a regular basis, anyway he should be back because of the girls and when he does i'm going to clip a wing, and take him to the vet or quarantine him.
Are you sure that the duck does not belong to anyone? Do you have a feral population in your area?
Sounds like he may have escaped in the nick of time. So it's a drake? pics??There are to scovie populations about 10 to 20 miles away and that's at a park and at a daycare farm place and both places the ducks don't have a great life, at the daycare a kid put a muscovy under a box and it died from stress, as at the park they get tangled in fishing line, so I'll post some found duck signs but like I'm pretty sure I'm goin to keep him,
