Muscovy keepers share your pics!

Her tail sticks out but she likes the box. In the picture, she was turning around to nip at the kids.

I really wish I had my broody pen done so she could relax a little. I think this will be her first brood. She is so sweet and she gets so upset when anyone comes near her.

I guess she's not done laying eggs. There are now nine

Pretty, now when she settles in for the duration you can move her nest and eggs into a more private space if you have one. I usually close them up for a day with food and water and they stay on the nest, but they have to be completely settled into brooding first.

Maybe I'll have enough time to at least get my broody pen mostly set up.
Another thing is you wouldn't want her to hatch up off the floor ducklings can fall out and if they can't get back into the nest box they can chill and die or the kids could get it. Heaven forbid.

I have a dead nest of about 20 eggs and the female still sitting on it. She's been on it for 40 days now and I was curious the proper procedure to take so she doesn't completely hate me. My buddy has day old ducklings and I was wondering if it was possible to give her one. Will she reject it or is it possible this will ease her pain??

I'm surprised they haven't exploded, before you try giving her any ducklings clean out all the old eggs right before just in case any go off that woud not be good to place tiny ducklings under her and boom all that bacteria going off.

Then your going to have to cup the duckling in your hand so she can't see it place it gently under her and watch closely how she reacts. Some will accept some will attack.

And don't worry she won't hold a grudge long if you decide to just take all the eggs and let her get on with her life but don't let her sit any longer it's not good for their health.

If you decide to try duckling please go for 2 they do better mothering if there are more than one.
