Hi Sovy momma, sorry for your loss. I looked at the Sacramento craigslist and there are a few breeders of muscovy offering ducklings. One in Sheridan looks to have a variety of sizes, they might have a hatch due or some vey young ducklings. I wish I was closer, its an 8hr drive.

Just wondering how long everybody's muscovys lay? Mine go all the way into December and take a 3 month break usually I guess it's the weather around here it doesn't get very cold

Mine start up as early as feb if we get a warm spell but most of the time march and finish up mid to late sept.

mine lay about the same as yours, just in the winter months its slower but they still lay

Mine only really lay for 4 months about. If we have a nice spring, they might start earlier... and go later.

But in general they slow down in August, stop by oct. at the latest... then start up whenever we have spring... so usually April or May.

Just when I thought I had scovy genetics figured out one of my black chocolate split drakes from two solid colored parents has a bib on his chest! Oh well I was only gonna keep one out of the two guess he made my choice easier.
